Sarah Burns is a classically trained painter who makes paintings and illustrations depicting the inspiring and grounded beauty of everyday life, notably landscapes of Southern Oregon. She preserves and documents her subjects using proven traditional methods and materials. 

Burns is based in Southern Oregon and has exhibited at the Schneider Museum of Art, ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum, The Maryhill Museum, The Arkell Museum, and other notable institutions. Her work is in corporate collections that include The Londoner Hotel, Macau, China and Rogue Valley Manor, Medford, OR.  Sarah teaches art online and in-person at Rogue Gallery & Art Center.  Her work has been featured in Create Magazine, American Art Collector, Etsy “Get the Look”, Southern Oregon Magazine, among other publications. In 2016, Burns was awarded the Hudson River Fellowship by the Grand Central Atelier and the Haines Grant in 2017, 2022 and 2024. Her film, Inspired Art: Seasons at Vesper Meadow was featured in Ashland Independent Film Festival’s Local Lens in 2026.
