Selected Still Life Paintings

I love still life paintings. I never get tired of rending form and color and playing with composition. Still life allows control of lighting, but fresh flowers move a surprising amount on their own. You don’t realize your flower bouquet is moving until you start to paint them. It’s a beautiful way to catch moment in time. I think there is a reason why still life is as old as time. It’s a universal subject.
